Stand out from the crowd with these carsSometimes, it’s nice to have a car that’s a bit of a talking point. Some of us like it when friends and family ask about the vehicle you arrived in, or catching them staring as you drive past. You don’t need to own a supercar to stand out on the roads and you don’t even have to spend much money at all to own a car that looks and feels a bit different than everything else on the road. We’ve put together a list of the best cars you can buy to help you feel more unique, rather than just another person in a Ford Focus.Kia StingerThe Kia Stinger is severely underappreciated. It’s a luxurious and sporty-looking saloon that easily gives the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and Audi A3 all a good run for their money when it comes to aesthetics. From the outside, the Stinger looks meaty, large, powerful and expensive thanks to sinister-looking rear lights and silhouette reminiscent of a Jaguar XJ. Dual and quad exhaust tips are available and the car is affordable as well, especially on the used market. There are plenty of second-hand Stingers for around the £20,000 mark. The interior is just as gorgeous with metal and leather inall the places you would expect in a luxury saloon. You even have the option ofhaving heated and cooled seats. Theonly bad thing about the interior is the screen, which is unfortunately casedin gloss black plastic. Due to there not being many of these on the road, you’rebound to get admiring glances and double-takes when driving around in thisgorgeous saloon.Peugeot iOnIn 2018, Peugeot only sold 7 of these odd little cars. Wheredo you even buy one of these? The iOn is effectively a rebadged Mitsubishi i-Miev, so you could count this as two options. The Peugeot iOn is a fully-electric hatchback with a batteryrange of around 85 miles. This is not a lot if you want to travel to adifferent part of the county, but for running around town and commuting to work(if it’s near) it’s plenty. As you can see, it looks utterly bizarre and will certainlybe for those with an acquired taste. That being said, there’s no doubt it’llmake you stand out. Vauxhall VXR8 GTS Again, this is another car which sold less than 10 units in 2018, making it rarer than a McLaren 570S in that regard! It’s the kind of car you would never expect Vauxhall to make. Essentially a muscle car, the VXR8 GTS is powered by a massive 6.2-litre V8. Oh, and it’s supercharged. It’s a very highly rated super saloon, it’s got asupercharger and most people can go their whole lives without seeing one.Guaranteed to make you stand out!Toyota MiraiThe Mirai could be mistaken for a Prius concept car, yetsurprisingly this is a real production car that you can buy.We think there’s a reason as to why the Mirai’s styling isso exaggerated and why it has clearly been designed with standing out in mind. That’s because it’s a hydrogen car.One of the few production hydrogen cars available, the Miraiis a 4-door saloon that guzzles liquid hydrogen rather than petrol or diesel. This innovation comes at a price, though. £66,000 to be precise! Perhaps take apass on this one then…Cadillac CTSYou may not know it but you can buy a Cadillac here in the UK. In fact, there’s plenty of used Cadillacs out there right now for around £3,000-£10,000.They’re so obviously American that it’s literally impossiblefor you to blend in when driving one of these around. The unique Cadillacgrille, the foreign badge, the shiny alloys, the odd rear lights. You may evenbe mistaken for a presidential escort vehicle if you buy one in black!Honda eThe Honda e recently made a splash when it was fully revealed just last year. It’s already received endless praise for its quirky retro-futuristic design, quirky features and excellent practicality. Did you know its turning circle (4.3 metres) is HALF the size of the Fiat 500’s? It’s also 100% electric and has an interior that really sets it apart from every other car on the road. It’s set to launch sometime this year and will start from around £26,000. Also, it doesn’t have any wing mirrors!Aston Martin CygnetThe Aston Martin Cygnet is like no other Aston Martin ever created. Yes, it has two doors and two seats, like many other Astons, but it’s about half the size and about ⅕ of the horsepower. Despite it being a reskinned Toyota IQ, the Cygnet is stillsomehow a very flashy car. Perhaps it’s the Aston Martin grille and badge, orthe Aston Martin leather interior, or the specialist Aston Martin paint. Infiniti Q60If you like the Mercedes C-Class Coupe then you may also like this. Infiniti is the luxury sub-brand of Nissan, just like how Toyota has Lexus. The Q60 saloon is a stunning alternative to the luxury german saloons that swamp our roads, and the perfect answer to standing out whilst still enjoying a quality product. The engines that are available are known for being well-refined and the cars come pretty well equipped as well. The Q60 is certainly worth consideration!Kia SoulThe second Kia on this list. They must be doing somethingright. The Soul is all about being soulful. The design shows that the car isn’t afraid to stand out and place quirkiness and style over trying to fit in and look sensible. Over the years, the design has changed quite a bit with thenewest model looking very aggressive indeed. The boxy shape paired with anangry face and ultra-modern head and tail lights makes for a fantastic-lookinghatchback. Polaris Slingshot To end this with a bang, the Slingshot is the ‘car’ thatguarantees you standing out when all else fails. It falls in the grey area between car and motorcycle and will not only have you sticking out like a sore thumb, but also provide great driving experiences and thrills along the way. It’s an open-top two-seater three-wheeler and although it only has 173 hp, it only weighs 791 kg. It’s fun, it’s novel and it looks incredibly cool!
