Cute. Friendly. Playful. The Honda e was arguably 2020’s most charming EV release. So charming in fact, that Honda has decided to release a limited edition run of the little urban explorer.
Trading cute for cool, the Honda e Limited Edition comes in a premium crystal red colour, adorned with a host of striking black accents. This sleek aesthetic is complemented by blacked-out 17” alloys and black badges at the front and rear. The Honda e Limited Edition is based on the Advance Grade Honda e, the more premium of the 2 Honda e variants released in 2020. It adopts all the Advance Grade features, and simply offers a distinct new colourway.
It is worth reminding that the Honda e was awarded Urban Car of The Year in 2021 and was acknowledged for its responsive driving experience. The Advanced Grade provides drivers with Honda’s parking pilot system and the centre camera mirror system, a useful set of companions for drivers who regularly find themselves traversing tight urban roads. Honda Sensing and Single Pedal Control are also present as standard, with the latter ideal for navigating traffic and the former providing an extra degree of safety for the unpredictable nature of city life.
The vehicle replaces conventional door mirrors with a side camera mirror system, which feeds live images to a pair of 6-inch screens on either side of the dashboard. It also has pop out door handles that remain conveniently tucked away when not in use.
The Honda e Limited Edition doesn’t skimp out for the sake of compact design, boasting a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display that spans the full width of the dashboard. It also features a panoramic sunroof and rear privacy glass, which looks even cooler next to red and black.
Ahead of his win at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, 2021 Formula 1 World Champion Max Verstappen took the new Honda e for a spin. Cruising through the streets of Dozza, Italy, Verstappen said the Honda e is “simply lovely.” Straight to the point!
He added, “It has funky looks, a compact design and is fun to drive.” We’re assuming he meant ‘funky’ in a good way.
The new Honda e Limited Edition starts at £38,120 and – as its name suggests – is limited to only 50 units across Europe.
