Along with Steve Pegg on the engineering side and Daniel Mense looking after the chassis and performance dynamics, Naran has teamed up with a name that might be more familiar \u2013 Wyn Design. London-based Wyn Design has also been a shared story in the development of the Apollo automotive brand, putting together the Apollo N, which was greeted with approval at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016. The same show also saw the reveal of the Apollo Arrow from the Wyn stable.Unusually, the Naran hypercar will feature a front mounted engine, although not quite as up front as you might think, giving the Naran a more mid-engine feel than a front-engine feel; the engine sits just behind the front axle rather than over it. The engine itself is an impressive 1048bhp 5-litre V8, twin-turbocharged unit put together in conjunction with Racing Dynamics – the German manufacturer of high performance parts for BMW – thanks to Naran implementing a deal with BMW. Indeed, the Naran shares its monocoque with the BMW 8 Series.All sounding quite impressive so far isn\u2019t it? Add to that a top speed for the Naran of 230mph and a 0-60mph of just 2.3 seconds along with a 0-100mph of 4.5 seconds and it\u2019s hard not to be impressed.The Naran is a big car, being approximately as wide as a BMW M8 GTE Le Mans, to incorporate the EY3 Engineering designed rose-jointed suspension and to handle weight transfer. 4-way adjustable coil-over Ohlins units complete the suspension setup. Despite an impressive footprint, the Naran is said to still be able to weigh in at a respectable 1620kg thanks to a mix of natural flax and carbon-fibre. 8-speed ZF auto transmission will deliver the power to the four wheels and steering will be aided by electro-hydraulic assistance. Slim-back Recaro carbon-shelled seats will keep you comfortable while your heart is in your mouth, as well as adding a few extra inches of legroom in the back.It\u2019s early days yet, but Naran does intend to test the mettle of the hypercar at the N\u00fcrburgring Nordschleife where the company hopes to set a new record for a lap of the circuit in the road-legal front-engined cars category. Peg is confident, and says that simulated runs indicate that a time within 6 minutes and 40 seconds should be achievable.Once the cars start rolling off the production line, we could be in for a bit of a curious visual treat; Kate Montgomery is looking after the interior design, and so far bespoke requests include marble and horse hair (not together). Needless to say, the Naran hypercar is to be infinitely customisable\u2026For a debut, the Naran hypercar is looking pretty impressive already. The GT3-inspired car will be limited to just 49 units, and if you are lucky enough to secure one, you can expect deliveries to commence from July next year. Though the Naran hyper-coup\u00e9 just might have a manufacturing lifespan longer than the 49 units projected, as it\u2019s rumoured that a barchetta soft-top will be joining the Naran hypercar ranks in the future.
