According to Greek mythology, there once was a King named Midas who had the magical gift of turning everything he touched into gold. Fast forward a few thousand years and we’ve got Prince Nasser Al-Thani of the Qatar Royal family -someone else who has the gift of golden fingers and who has subsequently been dipping them into the Oakley Design honeypot!
He recently purchased an Oakley Design Lamborghini Aventador LP760-4, proving money can buy near enough anything!
The stunning body work was created with the help from Nasser himself – as he candidly supplied the 18-carat gold leaf metal flakes which Oakley Design used in the first coat of paint. The lacquer itself shines proudly as pearl green, the original colour of orange remaining as just a distant memory. In total, 9 coats of paint were used, making this non-standard vehicle something far from the norm!
This one of a kind design is finished with £12,000 worth of gold flakes, with plenty of carbon fibre components and an extended central front spoiler plus extended vanes on the diffuser. Reaching 760 bhp, this bespoke Lamborghini Nasser addition has risen from its predecessor’s 700 bhp.
Mechanically, the factory four-wheel drive system is retained but Oakley Design’s upgrades have been applied to the engine management system. Titanium exhaust system has been fitted creating a lighter exhaust which particularly improves the overall driving experience of the car.
Adding to the already indulgent super car is the top air box which has been modified, opening it to increase ram-air effect on the engine.
Having 18-carat gold leaf metal flakes over your car really shows how the rich can play and if Nasser Al-Thani is anything to go by, the streets will now be his playground.
