This special DBX includes special paint, interior features and a trip to Scotland
In an unusual collaboration, Aston Martin teams up with a brand that you may know if you enjoy a good whiskey. Bowmore, a company based in Islay, one of the islands of the Inner Hebrides of Scotland, is known for having one of the oldest whiskey distilleries in Scotland, making an exceptional product of great quality.
This was enough for Aston Martin to team up with the famous distillery and bring us a rather strange and very limited Bowmore Edition DBX. It’s highly exclusive, extraordinarily beautiful and as expected, very pricey.
The exclusive features of this limited edition Aston SUV are numerous and very interesting, to say the least. There are a range of exclusive features on the car such as a special paint colour, badging, accents and other little details and there is also a range of other features that would be best described as VIP experiences.
First off, let’s talk about the car. It’s a standard DBX in terms of body and engine but it’s decorated very well with some Bowmore-themed details. The paint is an exclusive colour called ‘Bowmore Blue’ and is in actual fact an archived paint colour that was brought back exclusively for this project by Aston’s special division, Q by Aston Martin. If customers do not like the light silver-blue colour, they can opt for the Xenon Grey paint which will have blue metallic flecks throughout.
Also on the exterior, owners can enjoy ‘Q by Aston Martin’ badges on the fenders as well as optional black brake callipers.
Moving inside the grand SUV, occupants are greeted with Aston Martin and Bowmore-branded sill plaques made from copper from the original Bowmore whiskey still. The polished cup holders are also made from Bowmore’s very own recycled copper distillery metal.
The theme continues with hand-laid copper foil around the black centre console and the duotone Copper Tan Metallic/Obsidian interior with Bowmore tweed, or if you’re looking for more subtlety, the Obsidian Monotone interior. Thrown in, customers are also treated to a selection of exclusive accessories such as Bowmore tweed picnic blanket and leather holdall as standard.
Lastly, perhaps the most interesting part of the package. Each of the 18 customers that buy a Bowmore Editions DBX is invited to the Aston Martin Art of Living experience in Scotland where guests will be presented with their new special edition DBX and then embark on a 170-mile road trip through the Scottish countryside. They’ll enjoy scenes of the picturesque Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park and then board a ferry to Islay, where they will then enjoy a series of VIP events including fine-dining, private distillery tour of the Islay Woollen Mill, and a 3-night stay. During their visit, guests will have the opportunity to hand-fill their own bottle of 39-year-old Bowmore whiskey directly from the cask.
