Sir Chris Hoy, to those that don\u2019t know, isthe most successful track cyclist in history. Hoy is a decorated six-timeOlympic Champion and 11-time World Champion in the world of cycling, from whichhe retired in 2013. Since then, Sir Chris has been busy in the world ofMotorsport competing in the Radical SR3 Challenge and Radical European Masters,as well as the 2015 European Le Mans Series and the 2015 Race of Championsamong other things.The Ford Mustang GT4, in which Hoy will be racing with, has already won races in the British GT and has proven itself to be a competent and fierce racing machine. The Mustang GT4 was developed for Ford by Multimatic Motorsports and made its debut in 2017 at the Daytona 24 weekend. In its first year of IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge and Pirelli World Challenge competition, the car achieved 5 wins and 10 podium finishes.Sir Chris Hoy had this to say: \u201cThis is a fantastic opportunity to race theFord Mustang GT4. I\u2019ve seen thesuccess they made of the Ford GT programme so I\u2019m excited to get behind thewheel of one of their cars.\u201dHoy is set to be racing with Billy Johnson at Donington on the 23rd of June, and Andy Priaulx at Spa on the 21st of July. Johnson is an American driver best known for competing in NASCAR, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the WEC. Priaulx is a British driver who\u2019s been named champion of the World Touring Car Championship three times and has also won the European Touring Car Championship once. Both drivers are talented, successful and ready to give it their all at the British GT. Multimatic\u2019s Chief Technical Officer, Larry Holt said: \u201cIt\u2019s fantastic to have Chris joining us for a couple of races in the Mustangs, I think it\u2019s a great fit for the team and the series. I know that he\u2019ll really enjoy the car and I\u2019m obviously aware that he\u2019s a pretty good pedaller, so with the two guys we are partnering him with a good result is definitely in the cards. At Spa we are creating a special challenge for his #19 car, in that our GT WEC star Andy Priaulx will be his partner creating a father-son intra-team rivalry! I\u2019m sure Andy will be pushing Chris hard to beat Sebby and Scott for family reasons. At Donington, Chris will be driving with Billy Johnson, another of our WEC stars and a Mustang specialist, which should also result in a top finish.\u201dThe Spa round will see Andy Priaulx and hisson, Sebastian, racing on the same track so competitive spirit will be high.
