Cupra is going in alone; you probably knew that already, but before SEAT’s performance division is permanently severed from its parent brand, the stupendous Leon Cupra estate is to get one last hurrah in the shape of a special edition variant.

Limited to just 50 units in the entire world, the Leon ST Cupra Carbon Edition uses the same powertrain you’d find in the standard model: a two-litre TSI petrol engine with 296bhp being sent through a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox and four-wheel-drive.

However, like any short-run variant, this Carbon Edition adds a bunch of super-desirable features. Stylistically, the Monsoon Grey-only model comes with carbon fibre side blades and front and rear diffusers, 19-inch black alloy wheels and Cupra bucket seats. The quad rear exhausts will also feature the Cupra logo.

Mechanically, there are high-performance Brembo brakes that will do a sharper job at bringing you to a halt. This exclusive edition is sure to chime with customers keen to secure a hot hatch with super-charged styling and performance.

Richard Harrison, managing director of SEAT UK, said: “The Leon ST Cupra Carbon Edition doesn’t only deliver stunning and unique looks, but we believe the enhanced performance and competitive price will be a real draw.”

Priced at £35,575, the Leon ST Cupra Carbon Edition is available to order in the UK now and is expected to be in high demand, considering the appetite for the limited-run Cupra R, which quickly sold out earlier this year.

That is one serious machine! Love the style, performance obviously is good and is just that little bit different to the common crop of similar spec machines.
