Volvo has unveiled – with just the right amount of drama – its latest and most eagerly anticipated V90 Cross Country model.
Why is this so exciting? For one, it completes the 90 series line-up (yay!) and for seconds it’s a seriously rugged beast that can take on any amount of beaten track it comes across.
This is a car for those who love tearing up off-road terrain and will suit a lifestyle that is heavily based on exciting experiences.
Of course, seeing as it’s a Volvo, it’s also going to be suitable for those who have a more typical daily routine, but still need something that can cope with country lanes and – most of all – the issues that British weather can present in the colder months of the year.
It isn’t surprising that the new V90 Cross Country is snow-ready, as it has been created primarily for the Swedish market, which is known for having some of the harshest winters on the planet. Overall, this part of Scandinavia is one of the best places to test this all-weather car, particularly concerning its durability.
What does the new V90 offer you over previous models? Increased ride height, a newly optimised chassis to provide extra comfort and control, strong design and connectivity and entertainment features, which include a high-end sound system.
To drive, it’ll feel powerful under acceleration and in your hands as you hold the steering wheel.
Although it’s powerful, the V90 is also an elegant and refined car that is highly tailored so you should expect a smooth ride in a classy looking motor.
Production is expected to start from autumn 2016 at the Volvo Cars’ Torslanda plant in Sweden. UK prices will be announced later this year and you can get your Volvo V90 from the start of 2017.
