Its been five months since the car was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and now Renault has announced the specifications and prices for its new Twingo in the UK.
The third generation model is due to go on sale in late September, with prices starting from £9,500 for the entry level Expression SCe 70. However, the Play SCe 70 is predicted to be more popular and its prices begin at just under £10,000.
There are three choices of the new Twingo model, with the third being the Dynamique. Customers will get the choice of two engines to power their vehicles, the one litre 70 hp SCe three-cylinder normally aspirated engine or the 0.9-litre 90 hp three-cylinder turbocharged unit. The latter is known as a Dynamique TCe 90.
In the Dynamique models is a Stop and Start system, which cuts the engine while the driver is stuck in traffic so that they can lower emissions and get better fuel economy.
All the Twingo versions come with bumpers, door handles and shells for their exterior door mirror that are the same colour a. They are also equipped with a rear spoiler and LED daytime running lights.
Adding to the comfort of the car is electric power steering, electric windows in the front, remote central locking, a height adjustable steering wheel, speed limiter, lane-change function for the indicators and a trip computer with gear change indicator.
Safety equipment is also included, such as electronic stability control, hill start assist, emergency brake assist, front and rear headrests, a tyre pressure monitoring system and four airbags.
What sets the Play version apart, however, is its air conditioning, height adjustable driver’s seat and steering wheel. It also has stylish 15-inch black two-tone wheel trims, rather than the grey ones that come with the Expression.
On the Dynamique version are 15-inch alloy wheels, pinstripe shoulder-line decals, electric heated door mirrors, front foglamps, cruise control, a leather-trimmed steering wheel and gearshift knob, a departure lane warning system, white instrument backlighting and the rear doors have folding key and storage pockets.
