In fact, the F in the name is derived from the Fuji Speedway, the site of much of the high-speed testing carried out by the manufacturer.So how does it deliver the supposedly excellent performance? Well, that\u2019s partly down to the 5.0-litre V8 engine under the bonnet, offering 471 bhp and 530 Nm of torque. It\u2019s also because of the significant upgrade to Lexus\u2019 eight-speed Sports Direct Shift transmission, offering five operating modes. These include the fuel-efficient Eco setting and the more ruthless, powerful Sport S+.The model is flexible to suit the driving style of the driver, with the option to switch between a manual and a sequential shift control.According to the manufacturer, the RC F is the most powerful V8 road car it has ever created. It can head from 0-62mph in just 4.5 seconds, while keeping the foot to the floor will see the car hit electronically limited speeds of 168 mph.While the speed might be impressive, drivers will have to experience the exceptional grip and handling themselves to believe it. The chassis, brakes, steering and suspension have all been fine tuned to create optimum driving satisfaction and comfort, even at high speeds.Yukihiko Yaguchi, chief engineer of the RC F, said: \u201cThere\u2019s a perception that many high-performance cars are hard to drive. In fact they\u2019re easy in the right hands because they\u2019ve been purpose-built for the skill level of their drivers.
