The BMW i8 has been a popular choice on the luxury end of the hybrid market, thanks to its performance and EfficientDynamics. And now the German manufacturer has announced that the range will launch a special edition BMW i8 Protonic Red Edition.
In limited supply, the new Protonic Red Edition will only be on the market for a short amount of time, but it hopes to add more individuality to the i8 line. The aesthetics of the car are in concurrence with the look of the rest of the BMW i-series, but the limited edition model gets brand new Protonic Red paintwork that is accented with Frozen Grey metallic touches. Keeping the car on the road are BMW W-spoke 470 light-alloy wheels painted in Orbit Grey metallic and its hubs are covered in Aluminium matt with mixed-size tyres.
The model has overlapping and interlocking surfaces, giving it an overall appearance that is layered. This not only influences the look of the special edition i8, but it also improves the car’s aerodynamics, adding an extra level of performance as well as style.
Powering the new model is an upgrade to the i8’s hybrid drivetrain that has an output of 357bhp and 570Nm of torque, which takes the car to a top speed of 155mph. With regards to mileage, the BMW’s EfficientDynamics also see an improvement, recording 59g/km of CO2 emissions. Meanwhile, its combined consumption comes in at 113mpg and the model can travel nearly 22 miles in its electric-only mode.
Inside the special edition the upholstery is covered in red double-stitching and carbon fibre and ceramic trims, which are exclusive to this variant of the i8. The new BMW i8 Protonic Red Edition will begin production this July and it will be on sale from September, priced at £112,535 OTR.

This limited edition monster looks to be something taking up the
industry to whole next level.
Some good modification have been added up, as no doubt it a special edition.
Hope it carries out to be a good moster to drive upon.
