British manufacturer Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) is set to bring its Mono model to several stages of the 2016 Gumball 3000 rally. This is a bespoke car made by the company and it will make its first showing at the flag drop at the start of events in Dublin on 1st May this year.
The Gumball 3000 is going to be a starring showcase for the single-seater supercar, as it will be attended by several celebrities and hoards of fans. Everyone who goes to the event will be able to see the car up close, but only a lucky few will be able to drive it, including Maximillion Cooper, the founder of Gumball 3000.
After the car has been put under the spotlight in Dublin it will make its way to London, as part of a parade on Regent Street. But it will then be heading off to Budapest for another round of the Gumball 3000 as part of a track day on 5th May at the world-famous Hungaroring. Maximillion will be driving the BAC Mono around the track in Hungary and he’s going to be joined on the circuit by Josh Cartu, a familiar face to the Gumball 3000 competition.
The final act of the rally will be slightly different in that it’ll see BAC offering up a charity auction at the Gumball 3000 Foundation dinner on 7th may, which is also in Budapest. One lucky person will have the chance to enjoy a track day at a UK circuit of their choice and they’ll spend the day with BAC test driver Oliver Webb. The same person will also get to take home on-board video footage and photos so they can remember the experience forever.
They’ll also get to take a tour around the BAC factory in Liverpool, which was co-founded by brothers Ian and Neill Briggs. It’s from there that the company manufactures its bespoke supercars for exhilarating driving experiences. The new 2016 version of the Mono that’s going to be part of the Gumball 3000 is an all-new four-cylinder 305bhp 2.5-litre Mountune engine. A lightweight but powerful engine, it charges from 0-60mph in 2.8 seconds – pure lightning.
