Hybrid Kinetics, a Hong Kong based company who are dedicated to becoming one of the leading clean energy automobile companies in the world, have teamed up with Italian car design and coachbuilding firm Pininfarina to unveil a trio of luxury EV concepts.
The cars in focus are a five-seater SUV K550, a seven-seater SUV K750 and a luxury saloon H600.
Just another electric concept?
We know what you’re thinking, another new firm with a ground-breaking new EV concept! But, we think they could be up to something here.
All three cars will have Hybrid Kinetics’ micro-turbine generator range extenders and super batteries, which they say will ‘’help build emission-free cities’’.
The micro-turbine generator range extenders use the latest aerospace technology for a lifespan of 50,000 hours, with maintenance only required every 10,000 hours.
The super batteries also have a charging cycle of 50,000 hours and combined together gives the cars a battery range of 1,000km.
All this sounds incredible, but we remain skeptical until we see it for real.
The two companies signed a 46 month agreement to work alongside each other, with Pininfarina supporting the design and development of the K550, K750 and the H600 in order to establish the cars in an ever-growing EV market.
The trio of cars are Hybrid Kinetics’ first step into the auto industry as part of their endeavour towards environmental protection and clean energy vehicle development.
Just when we can expect the cars to be on the roads and what kind of power they’ll have remains to be seen, but they certainly have us intrigued.
