The company plan is to produce 3 variants of the SCG003; the SCG003C (Competizione) being the full-on racecar, while the SCG003S (Stradale \u2013 which is Italian for road) is the road legal version designed to compete in the N\u00fcrburgring 24 hours race.The SCG003 is designed by Manifattura Automobili Torino (MAT), the bespoke coach building company located in the heart of the coach building district (apparently there is one) of Turin, the name that we know Torino by in the UK.The road going SCG003S will be revealed at the forthcoming Geneva International Motor Show in March with the tantalising promise that the car will be setting out the break the N\u00fcrburgring road car lap record.Current RecordsTo give you an idea of what the SCG003S is up against, the Porsche 918 Spyder is currently top of the standard looking street-legal pile with a sub 7-minute lap time of just 6 minutes 57 seconds taken to travel the 12.9 miles of the N\u00fcrburgring.Street-legal does not necessarily mean the vehicle must look like a road car though, it merely means that the car can legally fit type approval. So with that in mind, the one to beat is the Radical SR8 LM with a staggering lap-time of 6:48s \u2013 and this is the one that the Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG003S is gunning for.If you think about that in everyday terms, and how long it takes to travel 10 miles on a clear open road in the real world, you start to get an idea of just how extreme this ongoing competition is.The carbon fibre SCG003S has a hell of a kick though, with a 0-62mph in less than 3-seconds and around 850Nm of torque. That top speed figure is taken directly from the website tech spec for the SCG003C, yet reports say that the SCG003S will actually hit nearer 217mph.SCG say that the downforce of the SCG003S will be over 700kg with cornering g-force of around 2g (the Space Shuttle produced 3g during launch). They predict that the SCG003S will achieve the N\u00fcrburgring lap record in 6 minutes 30 seconds.
