Nissan are hoping their plan to enter two cars into the Nurburgring 24-hour GT3 will prove a winner. Two Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 entries will take to the track to improve on the car’s ninth place finish in last year’s ADAC Zurich 24-hour race.
NISMO have a strong track record in the class, with three wins at the classic endurance race in 1991, 2001 and 2002. Super GT and FIA GT1 World Champion Michael Krumm has already been confirmed as one of the drivers for the 2016 battle.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back in the Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 at the Nürburgring. The track is an enormous challenge and competing at the ‘Ring is an incredible opportunity for any driver,” said Krumm.
He added the Nissan has already proved well and is well-placed to enjoy success in 2016.
“The car clinched championships in Europe and Japan at the end of last year and has already been on the podium at Bathurst in Australia and led races and been on the podium in World Challenge in the US this year,” explained the top driver.
The qualification stage of the competition will take place on April 17th, with the main event happening on the last weekend of May.
