Although commonly overlooked, the liveries in F1 are very important in many different ways. Having an eye-catching livery can set a team apart from the rest and make it easier to follow their progress throughout a race.
In this blog post, we will be looking at 5 of the most iconic Formula 1 liveries!
Ferrari – 2005
Arguably one of the most recognisable liveries comes from the Ferrari camp. It was definitely not unusual to see one of these red beauties coming first, especially when Michael Schumacher was behind the wheel.
Although it is a relatively simple design, most people associate red with Ferrari and that is not something that many teams can say!
Williams – 1993
Back in 1993 when Sega was one of the biggest names around, they became the sponsor for the Canon Williams team. What makes this design so special? Well, it would be a crime to leave this out as the cutout on the side showing some Sonic legs is pure genius!
Jordan – 1991
The simplest designs are often the most pleasing as that is exactly the case with this livery from Jordan back in 1991. Usually it is said that ‘blue and green should never be seen’ but when you saw this flying round the track, it was certainly an exception.
Brawn BGP 001 – 2009
The Brawn BGP 001 nearly never saw the light of the day after some dispute over its “double” diffuser which was eventually deemed legal by the FIA. The bright neon strips along the side of the car give a sporty yet modern twist which makes this livery stand out for us!
Red Bull – 2016
Earlier this year Red Bull unveiled their new livery design which features a unique matte finish and simplified design. With the distinctive bull on the engine cover, the contrasting colours look awesome and definitely keep up with today’s style.
