The ambitious Chinese technology and media company LeEco have unveiled an autonomous concept that will rival Tesla’s Model S.
The man behind LeSee’s creation, the CEO of LeEco; Jia Yueting wowed the crowd at the Beijing Motor Show in April when he commanded the car to drive itself on to the stage using a mobile app. But last week, the updated LeSee Pro was unveiled in the US at an event in San Francisco, and it’s looking more likely that the car will go into production sometime soon.
The LeSee Pro will have an electrical powertrain, memory foam seats, external display that changes depending on the car’s status, and undoubtedly the coolest feature will be the retractable steering wheel when the car is in autonomous mode.
The top speed of the LeSee Pro remains to be seen, although the rumour is it’ll be around 130mph, short on the 154mph top speed of the Model S.
However, due to the technological credentials of LeEco’s business, the LeSee is set to have a number of technological features which includes; cameras replacing mirrors, full mobile connectivity and an entertainment lounge that will use internet connectivity to access a wide range of music, films and entertainment collections through LeEco’s entertainment platform while on the move, which will definitely get the vote over Tesla from the kids.
