The hot new RXC gullwing-door’d Radical will be mixing it with the posh stuff at the upcoming Salon Prive supercar show in London, this September. Now in its eighth year for 2013, Salon Prive takes place over the 4th to 6th of September at West London’s Syon Park, and is said to be the UK’s most prestigious luxury and supercar show. The new Radical RXC fits firmly in the supercar side of things, but you’ll not find much in the way of surplus luxury in the born-to-race Radical.
The first ever enclosed-cockpit car from Radical is a couple of months away from its public launch, with the Peterborough-based British sportscar makers still putting the finishing touches to the most visually complex car they’ve ever built. And as firm friends and insurance sponsors of Radical Sportscars, we at Motor-Vision will be among the very first members of the public to pilot the wicked-looking carbon and composite, gullwing-shelled RXC.
Ready for either the road or the racetrack, the new RXC is powered by a 3.7-litre, 24-valve V6 petrol engine with twin-independent variable cam timing and sequential multi-port electronic injection. And with a Radical’s weight always kept to a minimum, downforce-generating aero and an aggressive appetite for the apex, we’re super-excited to get to drive one. There are wild rides, and then there are Radicals!
By way of celebration of the new RXC and of our impending date with demonic handling, we offer you this awesome image (below) of the flying (literally!) Radical SR8 RX that recently smashed the sprint record at the Cholmondley Pageant of Power. Check out the Radical SR8 RX video to see for yourself just how sticky and flickable these Radical racers really are.
