These new dampers are the result of the learning acquired by BMW while they developed the M8 Competition Series Gran Coupe (4-door). Also added are new, bespoke engine mounts for improved rigidity.The other changed thing about the facelifted M5 Comp is, quite obviously, the face. The 5 Series received its facelift not too long ago and the M5 Competition has now also received the updated, ever-so-slightly bigger grille, BMW’s new headlight design with L-shaped LEDs and also a new front bumper.The M5 Competition shares the same rear lights as the facelifted 5 Series but has a black lip spoiler and the bumper has a prominent rear diffuser which is not found on the standard 5 Series.On the inside, the facelifted 5 Series received a larger 12.3-inch infotainment screen with the latest iDrive system and a couple of new buttons on the centre console to improve ergonomics with the rest of the cabin being unchanged.Owners can still enjoy the M Sport exhaust, the M Compound brakes (now available in more colours) and the M Dynamic Mode which is basically drift mode and if that’s still not enough fun/challenge, you can switch the car into pure 2WD mode!The facelift M5 Competition has the same V8 4.4-litre engine as before which is certainly not a bad thing. It’s twin-turbo producing 616hp in the M5 Comp and 592hp in the standard M5 which isn’t available in the UK. This powerhouse of a car can launch from 0-62mph in just 3.3 seconds and do 0-124mph in just 10.8 seconds.Fitted with the same 8-speed auto transmission as before with M xDrive (rear-bias) four-wheel drive, the M5 Competition still drives like a good performance car but now it just looks slightly prettier doing it.Let us know what you think of the new styling in the comments!If you enjoyed this, you may also like: The New 4 Series Is Here and BMW Fans Aren’t Happy"},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
