A new partnership has been announced by Ducati UK and MSVR for the 2013 series of the British Superbike (BSB) Championship.
The Ducati 848 Challenge is to continue to form part of the racing calendar for next season and will become a responsibility of MSVR for the first time.
Averaging more than 30 riders on the starting grid at each race to date, the event has been exceedingly popular with audiences over the past three seasons and is now set to take another step forward following this announcement.
BSB series director Stuart Higgs commented: "The Ducati 848 Challenge has steadily grown, enjoying an average grid of thirty riders this season. The high quality presentation and standard of racing has more than justified its new full time position supporting the MCE British Superbike Championship."
A level playing field for all riders takes place in the Ducati 848 Challenge, with all entrants riding the same spec of vehicle, with only their individual skill separating them during the race.
"It's great to be able to confirm the 848 Challenge will continue into 2013," said Tim Maccabee, managing director of Ducati UK.
"We wanted to confirm the series early so that riders can start their plans for next year in good time – and the level of rider support amongst the 2012 paddock made it an easy decision."
Earlier this year, the popularity of the Ducati brand among UK motorcycle enthusiasts was highlighted through the significant attendance seen at the vehicle manufacturer's annual World Ducati Week.
More than 65,000 people attended the event in June, which was held at the World Misano Circuit in Italy and saw visitors come from across the globe, including the US, Europe, Australia, Russia, Brazil and elsewhere.
This year's Drag Race by Tudor was one of the most eagerly-anticipated spectacles, with motorcycle legends Valentino Rossi, Nicky Hayden, Troy Bayliss, Carlos Checa, Jakub Smrz, Sylvain Guintoli, Niccolo Canepa and Lorenzo Zanetti all involved.
