As Christmas fast approaches, fans of two wheeled modes of transport flocked to Motorcycle Live at Birminghams NEC in the hope of getting a glimpse of the new 2015 models for the first time and maybe even get themselves an early Christmas present.
With 250 Exhibitors and 39 manufacturers filling 67,000m2 of hall space they were certainly spoilt for choice.
For those that came to enjoy the spectacle of the show they were not disappointed either with chances to test ride bikes or with a huge variety of interactive features, including ultra-loud motorcycles being fired up, dance and drum shows, special displays of anniversary and racing machinery and much more.
The shows 9 days saw an influx of racing stars from MotoGP, World and British Superbikes, the Isle of Man TT and Speedway – including 2014 World Superbike Champion Sylvain Guintoli and 2014 British Superbike Champion Shane Bryne – taking part in signing sessions and on-stage Q&As.
Also a few celebrities could be spotted around the show with appearances by the Long Way Round’s Charley Boorman, This is England actor Andrew Shim and The Great British Bake Off’s Paul Hollywood.
Comedian and self confessed bike fanatic Ross Noble made an appearance on the Black Horse Stage.
The Victory stand had Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell drop in on the first Saturday to be presented with a custom built, in collaboration with trike builders Rewaco, Victory High-Ball cruiser with the addition of a modified CT1700v custom rear-end, with flowing sculpted bodywork and high level exhausts, rolling on chrome 17” laced wheels.
The bike was then painted by Terje Aspmo, with scenes depicting Phil, Lemmy and Mikkey Dee live on stage, while the hand-stitched saddle by Marius Mellebye leather craft, features the Motörhead Snaggletooth depicted in antique brown leather.
Obviously Phil was not going to get away without having a picture taken with Performance Direct and Maxxis’ very own ‘Rock Chick’ Michelle Westby!
Other highlights included an ear deafening demonstration of the 300hp Kawasaki Ninja H2R which had to be heard to be believed.

The show was hailed a success with over 117,000 people passing through the doors over the nine days which was 10% up on last year.
Motorcycle Live 2015 is already scheduled in for 21st to 29th November at the NEC so make sure you get it in your diary.
