Global motorcycle manufacturer Honda has completed an important tyre test ahead of the company’s participation in this year’s FIM Endurance World Championship.

The three-day test was carried out at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia and saw the team cover almost 2,000 km in 350 laps of the track as they set about trialling a variety of Dunlop tyre compounds for the upcoming season.

Neil Tuxworth, team manager, commented: “We certainly found some tyres that will not only work well in hot weather, which was the main objective of the test, but will also be beneficial for other races this year.”

The FIM Endurance World Championship will get underway on April 14th at the Bol d’Or 24-hour race in France.

Earlier this month, Honda announced the line-up for its TT Legends team for its second season in the FIM.

Cameron Donald and Gary Johnson will be the team’s representatives in 2012 – respectively, they were the fastest rider around the course last year and the 2011 fastest newcomer.
