The 2013 version of Yamaha's FJR1300A Sport Tourer model has taken its first European test ride, with members of the Tourer Owner's Club being given a special preview of the vehicle.

Phil 'Doc' Hacker, president of the UK FJ Owner's Club, was treated to a ride on the new model as part of the European press test by Yamaha.

He noted that the vehicle offers a combination of excellent performance with a high-quality finish, as well as featuring an array of safety devices that make the FJR1300A Sport Tourer one of the best options on the market for enthusiasts.

Mr Hacker added that the model has also come down in price over the last 12months, making it a real "bargain" for riders.

Simon Belton, Yamaha's marketing manager, commented: "Phil had a great time riding the bike in Spain and it was really pleasing that he appreciated the changes to what was already a fine Sport Tourer. And with Yamaha's aggressive pricing plan for the model, to be announced at Motorcycle Live, we are expecting great things out of this model."

The vehicle is set to take pride of place at the upcoming Motorcycle Live event at the NEC in Birmingham from November 24th to December 2nd.

Meanwhile, iconic motorcycle model the Ducati Monster is celebrating a significant milestone this month after being in production for 20 years.

It too will be showcased at Motorcycle Live 2012 and the manufacturer is commemorating the achievement by encouraging past and present Monster owners to get in touch and tell them their "Monster tales", which will form part of the vehicle's anniversary display.

Claudio Domenicali, general manager of Ducati Motor Holding, stated: "This model redefined the parameters of the naked segment and our new Monster Anniversary is dressed in the original livery of that very first version."
