Ducati has revealed its plans for 2016 as it continues to be one of the motorcycle industry’s most dynamic companies. Claudio Domenicali, chief executive officer of Ducati, presented seven new motorcycles in a special globally streamed event ahead of the annual International Motorcycle Show in Milan.

Last year, Ducati sold more than 50,000 bikes and the new range of models is set to continue to build upon that success.

“After a long period of shrinkage, the motorcycle market is now showing promising signs of recovery and this, together with the effects of continuous product innovation and geographical expansion into new markets, has allowed us to increase sales in the first ten months of 2015 by more than 20 per cent with respect to last year,” explained Mr Domenicali.

So what are the highlights of the new Ducati line-up? In total, there are two new Ducati Scramblers, – the Flat Track Pro version and Sixty2, which will complement the Hypermotard 939, Hypermotard 939 SP and Hyperstrada 939 family, the Panigale 959, the Multistrada 1200 Pikes Peak, the Multistrada 1200 Enduro and the very appealing XDiavel.

The latter has been designed to bring the comfort of a cruiser, but also offer the classic sporting ride popular with Ducati owners. It will make use of belt-type final transmission and features the new twin-cylinder 156 hp Ducati Testastretta DVT 1262 engine. Bike fans will be keen to see if Ducati have managed to succeed in bringing the two concepts together when the XDiavel goes on sale next year.

However, it isn’t just bikes that will make up Ducati’s 2016 range as the company has also unveiled a number of innovative accessories and a clothing range for those who are tempted by the Ducati branding.
