The Ducati’s 959 Panigale is already a rather special name in the superbike world, due to sharing styling with its big brother – the 1200 Panigale. However, the Bologna-based bike brand has just made it even more remarkable by announcing a new limited edition model.
Exclusive to the UK market with production capped at just 25 models, the Ducati Performance 959 Panigale special edition takes the regular ‘supermid’ 959 and enhances it with an Akrapovic titanium racing silencer exhaust system, which replaces the ugly stock exhaust that looked more like rear-mounted shotgun pipes. Also, there are components made from carbon fibre and billet aluminium.
Each bike is individually numbered by laser etching on the steering head and is suitably accessorised to unleash the full potential of the 959 Panigale.
Retailing at £15,995, the Ducati Performance 959 Panigale adds lower fairings, a billet race tank filler cap, racing articulated levers, brake lever protection, a plastic seat cowl and a Ducati Corse oversized screen.
For an extra £1,000, buyers can add the carbon pack, which fits the bike with a carbon ignition switch cover, carbon shock cover, carbon heel guards, carbon and alloy tail tidy, carbon front sprocket cover, billet aluminium handlebar weights, carbon fuel tank protector, carbon shark-fin chain guard and carbon rear mudguard.
