Automotive industry charity BEN – the Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund has announced it is to put on its inaugural Motorcycle Rally this year, with participants riding from Dover to Monaco.
Set to take place on September 22nd 2012, the event will cost £475 to enter and will see riders travelling across the English Channel, through France and ending in the glorious surroundings of the sovereign city state.
Entrants will be asked to raise as much money as possible towards helping the good causes of the organisation, with their entry fee paying for accommodation and breakfast for two on the ferry ride across the Channel, as well as evening meals and celebrations at the end of the event.
Ray Diggins, BEN's head of marketing, said: "This is a new event which we think will be very popular and is great fun way for biking enthusiasts to raise funds for BEN.
"All monies raised will help provide vital care and support for thousands of colleagues and their dependents from within the automotive industry in times of need."
Founded in 1905, BEN serves to support those who have spent their lives working in the automotive profession, offering services including emotional and physical support after the loss of a loved one or an accident, as well as providing child care facilities and nursing services.
Each year, the organisation requires a minimum of £11 million in charitable donations to maintain its upkeep and it is hoped the generosity and support raised through the Motorcycle Rally will go a long way towards achieving this goal in 2012.
Further information regarding the event can be found on the charity's website, with participants set to enjoy the classic beauty of the French countryside as they wend their way towards their final destination in the luxury surroundings of Monaco.
