Performance Direct sponsored Modified Nationals 2012 – the ten year anniversary of the show. Modnats showcases the top 25 modified cars in Europe with car clubs travelling from all over to show off their modded vehicles.
So what can you say about Modified Nationals 2012? Well one thing that you can say is that on the Sunday, when this film was shot, it rained. It rained a lot. Fortunately while the rain made the ground soft and damp it didn’t dampen the spirit of the show goers and the main exhibition hall was packed all day long with die-hard modified car fans.
Beautiful promo girls Michelle Westby and Faye Evette-Betts were on hand to look after the visitors to the Performance Direct show stand. On display was the street legal Radical SR3 SL and Michelle Westby’s own drift car, a Nissan 200 SX, which was back on the scene following a recent rebuild after she’d rearranged a large amount of the metalwork using a concrete wall. It was good to see the car back on show and for Michelle to be able to get back out there drifting. Look out for the latest Fast Car magazine featuring Michelle and her car.
Tuning is a serious business and the UK’s top 25 modified show cars were on display in the exhibition hall alongside many other exhibitor cars featuring some of the more interesting mods and car audio equipment.
Whether you love the Modified Nationals own Nissan Skyline, Honda Civics, Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta’s or the matt painted purple BMW Mini, Fiat Punto, an almost unrecognisable Mazda RX-7 which I heard referred to as “the green one”, the Mazda RX-8 with Bentley wheels or the Peugeot 308cc with wheels so shiny and beautiful that you’d leave your girlfriend for one night with them. The list goes on – the Honda S2000, a 1 Series BMW with artwork to rival the Sistine Chapel, Vauxhall Signum Estate, the carbon fibre Subaru Impreza, Nissan 350Z, Vauxhall Tigra, and of course the show winning modified Peugeot 207.
All this modified madness was accompanied by a range of other exciting show activities such as the Mountain Bike stunt team “Zero Gravity”, live music throughout the day and DJ’s. Of course the Maxxis girls are always a pleasure to see, as were the pole dancers on stage and the Hertz Audio girls.
