Plenty of people already love the Mitsubishi Shogun Sport, with its rugged good looks and all-terrain capabilities. However, the brand has now introduced a new contender for their affections – by unveiling a concept version of the hugely popular model.

Shogun Sports Front

The Mitsubishi Outlander Shogun Sport SVP Concept was officially introduced at the 2019 Commercial Vehicle Show within Birmingham’s NEC complex , and it proved to be every bit as desirable as the carmaker had hinted.

Shogun Sport Wheel

First up, you couldn’t help but notice those 18-inch black Predator alloy wheels, which feature a red split-rim design to add even more style to their polished perfection. Since this is an all-terrain vehicle, BF Goodrich tyres with wider tracks and wheel arch extensions have also been fitted for maximum performance.

Speaking of performance, there’s plenty under the bonnet here too, with a 2.4-litre turbo diesel engine, eight-speed automatic transmission and an advanced Super Select 4WD system. With 181hp and 430Nm of torque, this is one SUV that won’t have any trouble getting going.

Shogun Sport Grill

Since Mitsubishi envisages owners of the Outlander Shogun Sport SVP Concept getting off the beaten track with their vehicles, there are also plenty of features designed to assist with navigating and driving off-road.

For instance, you’ll find a specially designed LED light bar on the roof, as well as PIAA driving lamps ahead of the front grille, rally-style. The vehicle also has a four-setting Off Road Mode and hill descent control, meaning you’ll be firmly in command no matter what gradients you find yourself heading down.

Shogun Sport Lights

And Mitsubishi didn’t scrimp with the finishing touches, either. On top of those sophisticated wheels, there’s rear spoiler, black head and tail lamp surrounds and a striking decal package, with everything picking up those accents of red and black to ensure perfect coordination.

Shogun Sport SVP rear

Inside, the red theme continues with coloured LED mood lighting and special upholstery that has additional side bolstering at the front and rear.

This is one sultry-looking SUV – and we weren’t sorry that it ended up replacing the Truck King Battle Mitsubishi L200 eSports Concept that should have been on the show stand.

The Shogun Sport has always been designed as a car that does as well in the city as it does in the wilderness and we reckon plenty of car lovers will be raring to ‘Drive their Ambition’ by getting hold of one of these.
