If you’ve seen our reviews round-up on the new Mercedes-Benz X-Class, you’ll already know that it is ‘the best pick-up truck on the UK market’, redefining what a pick-up can – and perhaps should – be.
Well, Merc’s posh pick-up will raise the bar once again when a new range-topping X-Class goes on sale later this year.
The X 350 d 4MATIC makes use of a new powerful three-litre V6 all-wheel drive engine with 254bhp and up to 500Nm of torque, linked to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
This much grunt means the new flagship X-Class will be able to sprint from zero to 62mph in 7.9 seconds.
Meanwhile, the pick-up’s permanent all-wheel drive guarantees a high level of driving stability and dynamism in a wide range of conditions, most notably, wet and wintry roads.
Gadgets and goodies
Every Mercedes tends to come packed with a generous array of gadgets and goodies regardless of model and trim and that’s especially the case with the peak X-Class.
Standard equipment includes a simulated chrome-plated underride guard in the front bumper as well as a chrome-plated rear bumper.
Add to this, 18-inch six-spoke light-alloy wheels, steering wheel gear shift paddles, LED high performance headlamps and artico man-made leather on the seats and upper section.
No price has been confirmed yet but the current flagship X-Class rings in at £42,295 on the road .We expect Merc to tack on at least a few grand when it barges into showrooms this summer!
