For the small price of just \u00a3178,675, you could own a Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster just like this one. For that price, you can enjoy the power of a 4.0-litre V8 engine that produces 585 hp and 700 nm of torque. It can do 0-60mph in just 3.6 seconds and has an electronically limited top speed of 197 mph. The GT R Roadster isn\u2019t made for frugaldrivers, nor is it for people that appreciate the environment as it has a fuelefficiency of just 16.9 – 22.6 mpg and emits 284g of CO2 per kilometre. What\u2019s new about the car is the roof, obviously. As you would expect, the fabric roof is made of the finest materials, perfectly engineered for all kinds of temperatures and weather. The fabric is comprised of three layers of light-weight material with aluminium, magnesium and steel weaved in. The soft top opens in just 11 seconds and closes in the same amount of time and can be operated at speeds up to 31 mph. The fabric roof is also available in three different colours which are black, red or beige. Not quite as fancy as the colour options for Aston Martin\u2019s DBS Superleggera Volante which were \u2018Bordeaux Red\u2019, \u2018Atlantic Blue\u2019 and \u2018Titan Grey\u2019.The Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster is gorgeous,fun and fitted with some interesting quirks. Adaptive Highbeam Assist, active aerodynamics, manually adjustable aerofoil, air scarf with neck-level heating and AMG matt carbon fibre trim are all available in the new open-top two-seater. So is the AMG GT R Roadster worth the money? Well, when compared to the Jaguar F-Type SVR the AMG GT R Roadster looks overpriced. That\u2019s because Jaguar\u2019s F-Type SVR Convertible is a direct competitor and has a quicker 0-60 mph time and most importantly, costs \u00a363,000 less.The Mercedes-AMG GT R Roadster fails tocompete on price with its competition. The Audi R8 Convertible, Porsche 911Turbo S Cabriolet, Jaguar F-Type SVR Convertible and even the phenomenalMcLaren 570S all start off cheaper. So for thousands of pounds extra, what doyou get?
