Available on the Maserati Ghibli and Levante, F Tributo comes with various cosmetic exclusives.

Maserati celebrates 95 years of racing with the new F Tributo Special Edition Ghibli and Levante. Perhaps an odd decision to celebrate a motorsport-based anniversary with their slower saloon and their SUV, rather than with their more powerful Quattroporte and the all-new halo car, the MC20.

Ninety-five years ago on 25 April 1926, the first racing car to have the now iconic trident took to the track. This car was the Tipo26 and it competed in 1,500 cc class at the Targa Florio, an endurance race held in Sicily. The car was driven by Alfieri Maserati himself, one of the founding Maserati brothers.

This is an important anniversary for the Italian marque as it essentially marks the beginning of its success. After winning the Targa Florio, Maserati went on to build more race cars with 4, 6, 8 and 16-cylinder engines.

The company remained to have a strong focus on motorsports until the late 50s. In 1954, Maserati made its debut in Formula One racing with the 250F, a car that went on to achieve many victories with Juan Manuel Fangio at the wheel.

The F Tributo Special Edition cars commemorate Fangio himself, which is what the ‘F’ stands for, celebrating an era of many racing victories and the height of Maserati’s motorsport success.

The F Tributo Special Edition Ghibli and Levante are available in two bright colours, Rosso Tributo and Azzurro Tributo, each with its own meaning. The bright red Rosso Tributo replicates the colour that the Maserati cars always sported in their races and red was also, as we all know, the colour that represented Italy in motorsport.

As for the bright blue Azzurro Tributo paintwork, this colour represents the city of Modena, often with yellow to complement it. Modena is the historic home of the Maserati brothers and is where the headquarters are currently located today.

Fangio’s famous 250F racecar is celebrated with yellow brake callipers and yellow wheel trims which outline the 21” wheels in glossy black. On the wheel arches, a special ‘F Tributo’ badge decorates the Special Edition cars in black, making the already brightly coloured cars stand out even more. A body-coloured trident badge also sits on the cars’ C-pillars, which would usually be chrome.

One last touch is found on the inside in the form of red or yellow stitching which surely looks superb on the full-grain “Pieno Fiore” leather found inside. All in all, it certainly sounds like a spectacular edition to the Maserati portfolio. Have you ordered yours yet?
