Jap Show Final was the last tuned Japanese car event of the year, held at Santa Pod Raceway. The weather held out too, which was a treat for everyone, especially for those wanting to hit the track.The day started off as a cold one but no, the rain kept it’s distance which meant the day was much more enjoyable as people were able to move around and not stay huddled in different areas of the grounds. As soon as you walked in, the Show’n’Shine section was in clear view.Iby was the lucky guy who won “Best In Show” with his gorgeously clean Toyota Supra. The car was running on 19” x 14J rear wheels (above) and had a notoriously clean and shiny engine bay (below). A well looked after car that was all deserving of such an award.The guys at Severn Valley Motorsport (SVM) had a big turnout of Nissan Skyline R35’s, most of which were customer’s cars. The guys over at SVM are pushing the limits on how much you can get out of the R35’s power-plant. The world of Subaru was not to go a miss either! There were enough Subaru’s to outweigh any other Japanese manufacturer by a mile! This Nissan R35 GT-R has to be one of my favourites of the show, with a big wing in tow and front canards, topped off with front and rear lips, side-skirts and a carbon bonnet – the car has the SHOW and most definitely has the GO! The track was not shy of contestants from the modern icons to the old school money makers. Performance Direct’s very own promo model took part in the Podkhana, bagging herself 3rd Place! Michelle Westby managed to set a very good time in her drift-spec 200SX and she done well, considering she was the only female contestant!Finally, the BEST CLUB STAND award was being given out, proudly sponsored by Performance Direct in association with Santa Pod Raceway. I was lucky enough to be one of the judges on the panel and from walking around on the day, only one club really stood out to us.They had a nice variety of cars with a very trick GT86, stealthy MKII MX-5 and a few track weapon Evos. We had a chat with the guys after the award was handed out and they said:“Every show we put all the effort in we never get anything, for this show we put no effort in, no banners or flags and we won!”Well, I don’t know exactly what to say but well done to the guys at Tokyo Collective – well deserved and spend that £250 wisely!"},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
