The dream of driving an old school Jaguar vehicle for some fans is now a reality as Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations has just launched a Heritage Driving Experience.
Fans from all over the world will get the chance to sit behind the wheel of such cars as the Le Mans-racing icon the Jaguar D-type, the Jaguar E-Type and the most potent sports car of Jaguar’s history, the Jaguar F-Type R Coupe.
The Jaguar Heritage Driving Experience will open from November 2014 on an established 200-acre testing facility called Fen End in Warwickshire, where visitors will be given the opportunity to drive some of these historic cars.
Some have never been driven by members of the public before. They have been prepared for test driving after Jaguar recently purchased more than 500 British heritage cars from a private collector.
Speaking about the experience, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations managing director John Edwards said: “This is the first experiential offering from our new division and is the first time in Jaguar’s history that we have made a collection of vehicles of this calibre available for ‘arrive and drive’ experiences. It’s an extremely exciting new project that underscores the very essence of what Special Operations is all about – celebrating heritage with our eyes firmly on the future.”
There will be a variety of driving packages available at a variety of prices. They will let drivers try out a particular era of vehicles or cover a variety of points in Jaguar’s history.
The first visitors to Jaguar Heritage Experience days will also be given the opportunity to see the Perfect Ten exhibition. It will be installed at Fen End for some time following on from its recent launch at Earls Court London at the Jaguar XE reveal.
The display includes Jaguars that were chosen by a distinguished panel and features the incredibly rare SS100 and one of a kind XJ13.
If you want to take home some merchandise, there will also be an outlet for this at Fen End. Among the items that will be available to buy is the Heritage ’57 Collection.
