Jaguar has just unveiled a new special edition F-Type to mark 70 years of Jaguar sports cars.
The F-Type Chequered Flag packs in some sweet styling tweaks without compromising on the awesome performance that has bagged the F-Type more than 170 awards globally.
Available as a coupe or convertible, the Chequered Flag is easy to spot due to its exterior visual highlights, such as the exterior black design pack, which adds SVO extended side sills to subtly widen the car visually and give it even more presence than before.
There’s also 20-inch gloss black wheels with a diamond-turned finish, obscuring the red brake calipers, while the coupe gets a black contrast roof.
Interior Changes
Inside, the Chequered Flag’s cabin benefits from a luxurious Windsor leather interior with performance seats and embossed headrests. Other neat touches include a dark brushed aluminium centre console trim finisher and a steering wheel with discrete Chequered Flag logo and red leather band to mark the 12 o’clock position.
Capping off the interior, the Chequered Flag badge can also be spotted on the headrests, tread plates and dark brushed aluminium centre console finisher.
Power & Performance
Driving this special edition F-Type is a two-litre four-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine, producing 295bhp and 400Nm of torque. Buyers can also opt for a supercharged three-litre V6 petrol engine with 335bhp and 450Nm or 374bhp/460Nm.
Jaguar says each unit offers an outstanding balance of responsiveness, power and efficiency, backed by a visceral soundtrack that reflects the F-Type’s truly driver-focused character.
Ian Callum, director of design at Jaguar, added: “Perfect proportions, design purity and visual drama – every Jaguar must express these qualities, and none more so than F-Type. He also added: “In creating the Chequered Flag, we’ve focused on details which enhance F-Type’s presence and promise of performance. In doing so, made a fitting celebration of 70 years of beautiful, fast, Jaguar sports cars.”
Price
Prices for the Jaguar F-Type Chequered Flag start from £62,335 on the road.
