A Modern and All-Electric SUV with Impressive Capabilities

Kia has unveiled the 2024 EV9 SUV, an all-electric three-row vehicle that is set to be Kia’s flagship of the Plan S strategy. The EV9 is a pioneer in the segment and the automotive industry, featuring generous interior volume, towing capacity, and leading vehicle dynamics. The vehicle represents the future of Kia’s electrified lineup, showcasing the company’s commitment to delivering innovative, consumer-focused products with a serious commitment to electrification.

The EV9 is built on the proven E-GMP architecture dedicated to electric vehicles with fourth-generation battery technology. It features a long wheelbase and flat floor that provide both flexibility and comfort for all, making it one of the most spacious vehicles in its class. With its dual-motor EV9 GT-Line offering 379 hp and 516 lb.-ft. of torque, the vehicle targets 0-to-60 mph acceleration in just five seconds.

The EV9’s distinctive simplicity of form is a product of the “Opposites United” design language that has been extended to a new typology with familiar Kia SUV cues. The exterior styling of the EV9 is a triumph of proportion, with a boxy, triangular design language that emphasizes the tension of its short overhangs and long wheelbase. The available Star Map LED animated Digital Pattern Lighting Grille can be personalized by the driver, showcasing the vehicle’s advanced technology.

The EV9’s next-generation interior material strategy and style are also noteworthy, with a dual-display cockpit featuring full digital instrumentation and multiple camera feeds. There are alternatives to traditional leather trim, including partially recycled materials. The second row is particularly impressive, with available power-adjustable seats with leg extensions, heating and ventilation, and more legroom than many large luxury SUVs currently offer.

The EV9 is expected to arrive in the United States in Q4 2023. As a vehicle that’s OTA-capable and an advanced technology leader, it features upgradeable vehicle system controllers and infotainment features. Additionally, its standard collision-avoidance and active assist technologies are elevated to new levels with lidar-capable technologies. Overall, the EV9 is a formidable all-electric SUV that is set to establish a new industry touchstone.
