Salon Prive, the supercar and concepts show, will again be held at the swanky Syon Park west London countryside venue for 2013, where fans of all things super-fast and super-exclusive can ogle some very special automotive creations. It’s all about the top end at the Salon Prive show, but petrol-heads that appreciate design and engineering should also take a look, as the best brains in the business will be showing their creative side, with a whole section devoted to those so-cool concepts you rarely see outside the internet. Here’s a little round up of what’s coming for the 2013 event.
The Icona Vulcano (pictured above)
This fiery, €3-million one-off roadster was built in the Netherlands and has never been see before in the UK, and at well over 2-million-quid, we’d expect plenty of stunning detail and engineering to be showcased in this red wonder.
The stats are impressive enough mind, with 950bhp on tap from the V12 hybrid powertrain for a 220mph top speed. The aptly-named Vulcano was engineered by former Scuderia Ferrari technical director, Claudio Lombardi, so we can expect the technology under that so-sharp skin to be rather razor too.
Spyker B6 Venator
Another UK debut at Salon Prive, this time from the famously far-out Dutch supercar-maker, Spyker. It’s all about the aviation inspiration with the B6 Venator, so there’ll be lots of chrome, exposed rivet work and plenty of very bespoke billet aluminium parts. It should be pretty jet-rapid, too.
Ford Evos
The Ford Evos concept has been around for a little while now, but it’s a cool car to see in the metal, and shows a lot of what we can expect from the Ford models of the future. This four-door, four-seat fastback concept coupe is powered by lithium-ion plug-in hybrid technology and features gullwing-style doors and a myriad of sweet design touches. This is how it’s done when the big boys build a serious concept car.
Tauro V8 Spyder
Spain might be famous for the more usual SEAT brand of everyday cars, but clearly they can go large, too. Very large in fact, in the shape of this beastie from a Spanish manufacturer, Tauro Sport Auto, with their V8 Spyder. The even bigger news is that this curvy GT roadster is powered by the mighty 6.2-litre, General Motors V8 engine. Such a torquey V8 in a small and light car should make acceleration a kidney-shifting experience!
