Ferrari is about to grace us with a brand-new race car – but it\u2019s not actually for racing; this is a track-only car that you can enjoy  – if you have \u00a34.6 million!499P Modificata – A Replica of Race Winning Le Mans TechThe Ferrari 499P Modificata is a modification on the recent overall Le Mans winner for 2023.While we could happily just drool over the visuals of this hypercar, incredibly, Ferrari is making this a celebratory version that is not a pure racer.The bottom line is that Ferrari, buoyant in its first overall win for around half a century, has decided to create a modified 499P that you can actually own – as long as you have a handy track to use it on. Non-Competitive Track CarSpecifically, the 499P Modificata is for some potentially exuberant track use, but it is certainly not built for racing; it\u2019s a purely non-competitive tribute.Ferrari announced the single seater 499P Modificata during the Finali Mondiali, an event which celebrates the manufacturer\u2019s racing season.The Modificata allows users to experience exactly what Ferrari pro racers experience during race days – although crucially, the 499P Modificata does not have to comply with the strict rules applied by the FIA for 24 hour race cars, which allows for slightly different tweaks and technology.In essence, this allows Ferrari to offer the limited-edition vehicle with an uprated chassis and powertrain, plus improvement and enhancements to the interior.Shocks have been tweaked to offer a more usual and predictable feel compared to the Le Mans car, and anti-roll bars have had their torsional strength tweaked for more predicable handling as well.Tyre rubber is now to be provided by Pirelli as opposed to Michelin, with the intention of allowing the rubber to warm up faster.A lack of FIA regs also allows the Modificata to increase the usual 671bhp to a whopping 845bhp. So yes, users will be experiencing a more powerful and extreme car compared to Ferrari\u2019s famous Le Mans racing vehicles.The basic power still comes from a V6 twin-turbocharged 3-litre engine, but the car is now able to produce 4-wheel drive at under 118mph, unlike the race car abiding by its FIA regulations.Aside from these exciting free-from FIA regs, the car is pretty much the same as the regular car, including a carbon monocoque chassis with race-style push-rod suspension and 7-speed sequential gearbox.Inside, the single seater looks almost identical for the lucky person about to enter the cockpit.
