They will be driving a Falken-shod car each a they simultaneously drive around the Coventry ring road, going sideways at speeds of up to 80 mph.Mr Carter will be driving his 650 bhp Nissan R32 at the event and explained that he jumped at the chance to take part. He said: “We’ve all watched the Fast and Furious films or played the street driving games and wanted to drive our purpose built race cars in the city but that was never going to happen these days,”“What with all the safety and legal issues it was pretty much impossible but the team at MotoFest have done something amazing to pull this off. When we heard about it we just had to be part of it!”The team will not get any chance to practice beforehand, what with the track being a public highway, so they will be relying on their years of experience to navigate the tighter parts of the slippery ring road. On either side, the road is hemmed in by concrete walls and barriers.Mr Cheshire explained that some of the areas that will make the road a challenging drift arena are the bumps, grids, greasy layer of diesel and concrete. What’s more, the team are used to practicing on race tracks.Drifting is one of the fastest growing types of motorsport and Falken is one of the front running teams in drift championships that happen across Europe. Falken has supported MotoFest since the event’s first year, so it was keen to get involved. Matt Smith of Falken explained that this will be the only place where visitors will be able to witness a spectacular drift on a UK road."},{"@context":"https:\/\/schema.org\/","@type":"BreadcrumbList","itemListElement":[{"@type":"ListItem","position":1,"name":"Latest News","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/#breadcrumbitem"},{"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"name":"Falken drift team coming to MotoFest","item":"https:\/\/smart-motoring.com\/latest-news\/falken-drift-team-coming-motofest\/#breadcrumbitem"}]}]
