Well, some could argue that Tesla is doing just fine without one but there\u2019s certainly an argument to be made for the company to begin considering hiring some PR experts.Elon Musk is very well known and that\u2019s not because he\u2019s one to keep quiet. Often appearing at conventions, television shows and public events Elon makes an effort to be known and one of the worst places he does that is on Twitter. Whether he\u2019s hyping up some random cryptocurrency (likely to manipulate the market to his gain) or throwing insults at heroic cave divers, there\u2019s very seldom peace and quiet coming from his profile. Many of his promises that were either not delivered on or cancelled entirely have actually come from a tweet on Twitter.For example in October 2018, Elon tweeted: \u201cBy next year, a Tesla should be able to drive around a parking lot, find an empty spot, read signs to confirm it\u2019s valid & park.\u201dJust this month, Tesla removed the 2022 Cybertruck production date from its website, a pickup truck that according to Elon, and reports suggest production is now delayed to 2023. The truck was originally said to be making production in 2021. It has also been promised on stage that it will have bulletproof glass and air filtration good enough to survive a toxic post-apocalyptic environment.u\/Kruzat, CC BY-SA 4.0, via Wikimedia CommonsOther wild promises that have been uttered over the years include propulsion jets that will let the Tesla Roadster hover for a short amount of time, that the Cybertruck will be a better sports car than a standard 911 and that you should be able to summon your Tesla from New York if you\u2019re in LA.Hilariously, Elon also once said that Tesla would never need to raise another funding round and then not long after, he started taking \u00a3100 deposits for a concept truck that may not ever make it to production. A \u00a3100 deposit for a vehicle is probably the most obvious public fundraiser a company has ever pulled!\u00a0There\u2019s no doubt that Tesla has been an excellent disruption in the EV market and the general automotive industry as a whole, encouraging widespread adoption of electric vehicles, however, the way it\u2019s been done has been accented with a long list of bizarre and unbelievable claims that we just keep eating up, for whatever reason. Can\u2019t we help ourselves when it comes to living on a prayer?
