Although some may not see it this way, we believe that the experts over at Lunaz are doing a spectacular job and their latest project, an all-electric Aston Martin DB6, is a great example of what they do.Previously, Lunaz restored, reengineered and electrified other British classics such as the Bentley S3 and Jaguar XK120 bringing them into the twenty-first century with various quality of life improvements and of course, an electric motor so that owners can drive them daily without the worry of their antique components and engines failing.When considering which car to remaster next, Lunaz only consider the \u2018most beautiful, rare or significant\u2019 examples from their respective marque so picking the DB6 from the Aston Martin Portfolio certainly seems like a good choice! Lunaz describes the classic Aston, saying \u2018there is no purer or striking evocation of the British Gran Turismo\u2019. David Lorenz, Founder and CEO, Lunaz Group also notes that the car is not just a good fit for their mission but also, they had \u2018sustained demand\u2019 for it, suggesting that clients have been asking for it to be made for a while.With that said, Lunaz are now working hard on creating the perfect modern-day Aston Martin DB6, with first deliveries currently scheduled for Q3 2023. The remastered DB6 will be produced in unknown limited numbers and although the exact prices are also unknown the company has stated that each will exceed $1 million + tax.The process involves taking a DB6 and performing an exhaustive bare-metal restoration. The end result will be, as described, a \u2018concourse-level vehicle\u2019 that has gone above and beyond a basic restoration, with virtually all parts serviced, restored and upgraded where necessary. The end goal is to bring the DB6 forward in time, making it even better than before with superior reliability, driveability and sustainability.Brakes, suspension and steering will all be uprated creating a superior feeling of usability for the owner as well as increasing safety and performance. The interior will also be improved upon to achieve a greater level of convenience, adding things like air conditioning, navigation, infotainment and connectivity systems.Ironically, the Lunaz DB6 will be manufactured at their facility in Silverstone, just a stone\u2019s throw away from where the DB6 was originally built in the 1960s in the town of Newport Pagnell. Here, all works will be done in-house including the fitting of their own proprietary modular electric powertrain which will allow the modernised Aston Martin to drive around 255 miles on a full charge.Following several successful classic car electrifications and a large injection of growth capital, Lunaz\u2019s design and engineering team is currently the largest of its kind in the world.
