SEAT’s high-performance motorsport arm Cupra recently revealed two Tribe Edition variants
of their Formentor and Ateca models.

The CUPRA Tribe, defined by the brand as “change setters” and “people who share customs,
values, fashions, spirit, and attitude”, has crafted two special-edition variants in Barcelona,
the home of the Spanish brand. Antonino Labate, CUPRA’s Global Director of Strategy,
Business Development & Operations, describes CUPRA Tribe as a “personification of the
brand, highlighting its determination to be an unconventional challenger.”

Cupra states that the vehicles encompass the Tribe’s values, offering owners a car that is
imaginative, energetic, and contemporary. Such passionate language may have suggested
that the Tribe Editions offer exciting performance improvements and progressive technical
upgrades that build upon the existing vehicles. The reality is much less ground-breaking.
The Tribe Editions provide little more than a visual refresh but don’t let that put you off; the
new designs home in on the individuality of the Formentor and the Ateca, allowing for a pair
of sleek reimaginings that are sure to please fans of the base models.

The Cupra Formentor Tribe Edition is available for all VZ engine variants. It features a
selection of exterior design elements said to add to the vehicle’s already distinguished
character. These include dark chrome CUPRA lettering, outer mirror covers, and 19-inch
sport black matt alloy wheels. Complementing this is the introduction of the new exclusive
Cliff Grey colour.

Inside, Dinamica and Napper leather special seats make for a premium ride experience. Dark
Alu pedals round off the Formentor Tribe Edition, emphasising the contemporary sportiness
of the vehicle.

The Ateca has similarly undergone a few subtle design changes. Magic Black and Dark
Camouflage are the two available exterior colour options, stylishly combined with exclusive
two-tone matt black and copper 20-inch alloy wheels for a sophisticated look and feel. The
wheels also include copper Brembo brake callipers and are adorned with black chrome
CUPRA lettering, distinguishing the Tribe Edition from all other variations.

The subtle tones on the outside are also present inside the cabin, with duotone Dinamica
Black and Shark Grey bucket seats reserved for the driver and front passenger.
The Cupra Formentor and Ateca Tribe Editions will enter production at the end of this year.
