Attendees watch the happy couple tie the knot from their cars. Featuring a Lamborghini, Rolls Royce and a Porsche!

Just last Friday, a happy couple, both aged 30, tied the knot in front of their 250 guests. So far, it all sounds like a pretty standard wedding but in reality, it was so much more.

Held at the scenic Braxted Park Estate, over 250 guests attended a spectacular drive-in wedding where they watched the ceremonies from their cars, enjoying food delivered through their windows and only leaving their vehicles to go to the toilet.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, weddings have been incredibly hard to organise thanks to the new strict 15-person limit put in place at the end of September. To navigate this, Roma and Vinal decided to copy the drive-in cinema blueprint, where more than 15 could attend but only to watch from their cars.

The result was the pure-green grass of Braxted being decorated with the cars of friends and families, including a Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, Rolls Royce Ghost, Lamborghini Urus and a range of other nice cars including a Range Rover Velar, Tesla Model 3 a new 3 Series and so on.

The now-married couple even visited a drive-in cinema for research purposes, taking note of how people had food delivered to them and how the cars were parked. “We spent more time looking around us than watching the movie and thought the whole thing was amazing.”, Roma commented.

The couple had cameras pointed at them most of the time which was then projected onto a big outdoor-cinema-style screen for the guests to watch.

The bride and groom themselves toured around the grass in a golf buggy to avoid the muddy and soggy ground and it looked like they were having a fantastic time doing so! Originally, the wedding was planned for April and then postponed to October. Roma, the newly-wed bride admitted: “we did not understand the severity of the situation and were still holding out hope that we could have a re-arranged wedding for 700 guests, as originally planned.”

The atmosphere sounded fantastic, with guests ‘honking their horns and cheering’ as the couple completed their ceremony. A live Zoom feed also went out to friends and family that were further afield, as far away as India and America.

Vinyl said “’We did not want to let COVID stop us marrying.” and they sure didn’t! A fantastic solution to a very modern problem.
