This year the NEC Classic Motor Show once again proved its worth on the classic car event calendar. Proudly remaining the biggest and most popular classic car exhibition in the UK, the show kicked off on Friday 16th November at 10 am to a great crowd.
Over 1,400 cars filled the arena which had been transformed into a motoring enthusiast’s paradise. Creating a fantastic buzz, up to 60,000 visitors explored the show helping to bring the classic car show season to a celebratory end.

It was a motoring spectrum of everything classic with plenty of traders and companies offering every conceivable product and service a classic car could need!

Taking over the whole weekend meant that there was ample time to discover the momentous amount of vehicles on display, from vintage racers, to modern classics and to tiny micro cars like the Peel P50 found on the Performance Direct Insurance stand. The range was so broad from some of the oldest working cars to some of the most beautiful classics.

Car clubs were high in numbers and pulled out all the stops! Around 200 clubs exhibited at the show promoting their club to many enthusiasts. Passion from car club representatives was easily seen as they grasped the opportunity to meet new friends with the same passion and enthusiasm for the classic car industry.

On Saturday 17th the great auction took place under the supervision of Silverstone Auctions, who made sure everything ran smoothly on the day. The sale saw an array of classic, vintage and veteran road cars, amongst them an Aston Martin DB4 reached £224,00, with bidders jumping at the opportunity to own a piece of engineering history, raising over £1 million altogether! Another popular feature of the event was the live stage where hosts Mike Brewer and Edd China, from TV’s Wheeler Dealers, packed the day with a full list of activities including live car demos and giveaways!

In addition to all this there was also the chance to meet Guy Martin famed enthusiast and TT driver, who was there signing autographs for avid fans on Saturday and Sunday.

Leeds City College were also in tow taking part in the restoration theatre – one of the shows longest running and most popular features. Here the team allowed visitors to come along and watch as they tackled several projects while encouraging audience participation which was great fun!

One incredible feature was the ‘Dream Cars’ section. In exchange for a donation to charity, this was an awesome opportunity for visitors to take a ten mile ride in a dream car of their choice! Over the weekend an astonishing £30,000 was raised! Having fun while donating to charity we can’t think of a better way to end your day!!
