You wouldn’t think that the MX-5 has now been in production for 27 years, even the first generation doesn’t look very outdated! The whole idea behind the MX-5 was to create a “budget sports car for the everyday man”.
These days many MX-5 owners get tarred with the “hairdresser’s car” stereotype, but when you think about what the MX-5 offers it really brings more to the table than most see. As an example, take “Mad” Mike Whiddett, a professional drifter who has used the NC chassis for the Formula Drift series.
