A new classic car event is set to take place in Stratford-upon-Avon next year, with more than 200 vehicles expected to take part.

The inaugural Stratford Festival of Motoring will be held in the historic Warwickshire town on the bank holiday weekend of Sunday May 5th and Monday May 6th, when a selection of foreign supercars, British classics and vintage motorcycles will be on display.

Event organiser Adrian Grubb said the festival "promises something for everyone with at least a drop of petrol running through their veins".

The event will feature two runs through the famous countryside of Warwickshire and Gloucestershire, with the Test Hills Run on May 5th tracing a 60-mile route through some of the Cotswolds' most scenic villages and steepest inclines.

According to the organisers, the route will be the same as that used by Midlands-based manufacturers to test vehicle pulling power and braking ability before purpose-built tracks became the norm.

Entry to the festival will be priced at £15 per day or £20 for both days.
