JD Classics has received awards for its efforts in the restoration of a number of classic vehicles at last month’s Uniques Special Ones Concours in Italy.
The company painstakingly restored an Ex-Clark Gable XK 120 Alloy Roadster, as well as an E-type Fixed Head Coupe (EFC) model and E-type Roadster for the event.
Running from September 28th to 30th in Florence, the concours saw JD Classics awarded the Overall Best Restoration accolade for its ex-Clark Gable XK 120 Alloy Roadster.
The model underwent a significant overhaul by the 35-string JD Classics restoration team in order to take this year’s title.
Meanwhile, the E-type FHC chassis no. 10 – the tenth model to roll off the production line – won Best in Class for Styling and the E-type Roadster was awarded Best in Class for Originality and Restoration.
Derek Hood, managing director of JD Classics, commented: “To win at Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August was a real privilege for JD Classics.
“For our workmanship to also be recognised at Uniques Special Ones through various awards is just a fantastic way to finish off our 2012 concours activities.”
Uniques Special Ones Concours is an annual event open only to models of distinct rarity or history, or to those with famous owners in the past.
