Nevertheless, we’ve had a go and in honour of FordFest which is on 17th September, we will choose 3 of our favourite Ford models from throughout the years.Ford Mustang Shelby GT350The 1965 original GT350 is considered the greatest of all and for the 1966 model, very few changes were made as there was little that needed improving.This ‘fastback’ Mustang was fantastic for the Ford and Shelby brand, becoming a legendary vehicle that even has 2016 nameplates. It was destined for Trans Am racing and in racing trim, took part in SCCA competition at the Green Valley Raceway, Texas.Made instantly recognisable by the fiberglass bonnet with hood-mounted air scoop, the Mustang is certainly one of our all-time favourite Fords.Ford Escort RS2000One of Ford’s ‘Rally Sport’ offerings, the RS2000 handled better than its predecessor and had a bigger engine that provided more power. Only 4,500 were produced and despite having a fairly simple chassis, this Escort has tons of charisma.Sitting on fat alloys and featuring racy Recaro seats, this classic sports car inspired the growth in hot hatch popularity. This model had a top speed of 109ph and a 0-62mph time of 8.6 seconds.This iconic car did very well in Europe especially and since Ford chose to focus on performance, its no surprise that the RS2000 enjoyed great rallying success.Ford PumaLaunched in 1997, the Puma was an instant hit that ran until 2002 with four versions offered over the years.Each type had 3 doors and 4 seats as standard with a ‘hunched’ profile, which made what is already a versatile and exciting car even more practical.Undoubtedly the best small coupe the world has ever seen, demand was so great in the 90’s that a Fiesta-engined 1.4-litre model was added in February 1998. Ford then introduced the limited edition 1.7 litre ‘Racing’ model 2 years later.Ford Fest 2017The Fiesta is without a doubt the most popular hatchback on the market today and by far the best selling car in the UK over the last few years. So how could we not include the lovable hatchback in this list. Now in its third year, Ford Fest will feature thousands of classic and modern models. The show opens 9am on Sunday 17th September and you can get ‘Advance’ tickets online until midnight Saturday, or on the gate.For more information about the event, visit their website – http://www.fordfestshow.co.uk/fordfest-show"},{"@context":"https://schema.org/","@type":"BreadcrumbList
@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
{"@type":"ListItem
