A typical example of the muscle car breed, the GTX delivered stunning performance for its day, featuring a 375 bhp engine and capable of accelerating from zero to 60 mph in just 6.5 seconds.BCA spokesman Tim Naylor commented: "The opening sale includes a selection of very desirable Americana and we expect this and the future sales to attract interest, not just from UK buyers, but from much further afield. "There is a real following for the American muscle cars, with many buyers seeing them as a real investment for the future."An iconic example of the muscle car brand, the Firebird will also be on show for fans at the auction.Its production run ran from 1967 to 2002, making it one of the most long-running muscle car brands, and the vehicle was the cousin of the first-generation Camaro.A host of variants on the first and second-generation Firebird have been released over the years, including the popular Trans-Am and Trans-AM WS6 models.
