Classic car enthusiasts who own a rare MGB may have found it difficult to find parts in recent years, but British Motor Heritage (BMH) has now come to the rescue.
MGB owners in need of a new bumper may have been unable to find the part just a few weeks ago, but BMH has now announced it has carried out a one-time production run of this spare part, with the new bumper able to fit models produced in 1974 onwards.
"Owners of the rubber bumper cars need to understand that while we will retain the moulding tools it is extremely unlikely they can ever be utilised again. The results of the current run must therefore be thought of as a life-time buy," commented BMH's managing director John Yea.
In total, BMH has created 100 new bumpers for MGB models, with this run almost certainly to be the last ever of original parts for the vehicle.
The MGB was launched in 1962 and production ran through to 1980. When new, it delivered performance of zero to 60 mph in 11 seconds.
