Classic car owners still have eight days to enter their pride and joy into this year's prestigious Classic Car of the Year competition.
The deadline for entries is Friday August 3rd, when a panel of expert judges will begin to sort through the many participating vehicles and evaluate their merits.
After a shortlist of 20 classic cars has been drawn up, the public will have an opportunity to vote for their favourites and the five winning vehicles will go on display at the Classic Motor Show at Birmingham's NEC later this year.
Organised by the Classic Car Weekly, Classic Cars and Practical Classics magazines in association with Lancaster Insurance, the competition is open to any motor made before 1990.
"Entrants range from the old school elegance of a 1933 Standard Swallow two-door coupe to the more modern power of a 1987 Ford RS500 Sierra Cosworth, so every motoring taste is covered," the organisers explained.
"There are cars that have consumed their owner's time and money as they have been taken apart and lovingly restored back to their former glory, like the 1982 Morris Ital."
Owners can enter their cars online by filling in a form on the competition website and uploading an image of the vehicle.
The overall winner will receive a one-off trophy, as well as a host of other prizes. All 20 shortlisted cars will be provided with a commemorative certificate.
Last year's Classic Car of the Year finalists included a Ford Capri GXL 1973, a 'Mini' Morris Mini Minor Deluxe 1961, a Jaguar E-Type Series ll 1969 and a MG Magnette ZA 1955.
